SKOPJE (N. Macedonia), May 12 (SeeNews) – The number of building permits issued in North Macedonia increased 4% year-on-year to 334 in March, the statistical office said on Monday.
The estimated value of construction projects covered by the building permits issued in March amounted to 20.15 billion denars ($365.6 million/329.1 million euro), up 244.2% compared to March 2024, Makstat said in a statement.
The increased estimated value is because an approval was issued during the reference period for the construction of a high-value wastewater treatment plant in Skopje, the statistical office said.
Of the total number of permits, 185 were for new buildings, 64 were for civil engineering projects, and 85 were for reconstruction projects.
Out of the total, 149 permits were issued to private individuals.
During the review period, 685 dwellings were planned for construction, with a total usable floor area of 57,039 sq m.
