The spokesperson for the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Faton Abdullahu, has stated that the major differences they have with the Vetevendosje Movement mean that they have more opportunities for cooperation with other parties.
Abdullah stated on Monday on KTV’s “60 Minutes” that he is in favor of the idea of uniting with other parties, in order to see a possible solution to this crisis.
“However, we have major differences with Vetevendosje. Differences that could be obstacles to being constructive on the path to democratization of Kosovo. We, the parties that were in the opposition, should come together. What unites us is how much we differ from Vetevendosje. We are a party in our own right. We also have differences with other parties, but it has been assessed that before we go with other parties, we prefer to go with the opposition parties. If we were given this opportunity that belongs to us, we will try it. It is not easy, we are aware of it, but we have to work,” Abdullahu said.
The PDK official stated that Vetëvendosje is holding a political grudge by proposing Albulena Haxhiu for parliament speaker, even though he said she does not have the votes to pass.
“So far, the Vetëvendosje proposal is not inclusive, in the sense that it is an acceptable person. VV is what should be morally, politically, and institutionally above all others,” he added.
According to him, President Vjosa Osmani’s invitation to meet with parties with the aim of unblocking them is a good signal and the right action.
Abdullahu added that PDK has met with all parties to find a solution.
