The United Capital City Soccer Club hosted a groundbreaking ceremony on Monday for its new multi-sports complex, which is across from the Special Olympics Training for Life Campus.

The complex will soon be gearing up to host large-scale tournaments for soccer, baseball, softball, and other sports.

United Capital City Soccer Club officials predict that in the first year alone, the club will bring in around 40 million dollars to the city.

“In 2026, we already have 40 events scheduled between soccer, baseball, and softball. There are other things we are looking to add as well. Still, those 40 events will total well over 40 million dollars in economic impact to the city, explained Tom Chapman, United Capital City Soccer Club’s Executive Director.

According to Chapman, the complex will include 8,500 square feet of office and pavilion space, an LED Screen, and various other unique amenities.

While the United Capital City Soccer Club is private, Chapman says they want the complex to serve the community. UCCSC has partnered with JC Parks and Special Olympics to host certain events at the new complex.

Chapman says that since they plan to host several tournaments as early as October, they will have an aggressive timeline to prepare the site moving forward.

In the coming weeks, they will construct buildings around the premises, and in July, they will look to install turf.

Chapman says Monday’s event also kicked off their Capital Campaign, in which the group will seek to raise between two and three million dollars. Chapman says interested parties should contact them on United Capital City Soccer Club’s website.
