Salinas Valley Health celebrated National Nurses and Hospital Week with a catered lunch and award ceremony, presenting several peer-nominated awards to staff, including honors for units that played significant roles during the COVID-19 pandemic.”We provide care for everyone in our community, it’s quality. It’s excellent, and our patients are always at the center of what we do. Today is to honor our staff. They are the ones that make it happen,” said Carla Spencer, Salinas Valley Health chief nursing officer.In addition to nurse, employee, and physician of the year awards, the emergency department and mobile clinic received the two big team honors. The emergency department serves nearly 64,000 people annually, and the mobile clinic is the longest-running service of its kind in the county.
