Christmas Markets between Munich and Dresden areas.

Hello, I am traveling to Germany again, this will be my families 2nd time visiting during the holiday season. We are flying into Munich and have 16 days to travel between Munich and Dresden and then back to Munich to fly out. The last 6 days are planned for family and with a buffer day for traveling back to the Munich area in case of poor weather.

We’ve been to markets in tegernsee, garmisch, Munich, Nuremberg, seiffen and Dresden on our last trip. We’ve decided to potentially skip going into the city in Munich this time and going to Regensburg for a couple nights, then planned to go back to Nuremberg as we didn’t get much time to explore last time due to rain.

We have been considering going to Erfurt, Bamberg, or Leipzig and or Dresden again. Before we start locking in our plans I wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions. Cities that have more than just Christmas markets are ideal for us. Within a couple hours of treuen is ideal. As we have family from that general area that may also join us wherever we go.
