PRISTINA (Kosovo), May 16 (SeeNews) – Kosovo’s harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP) rose 3% on the year in April, following an annual increase of 2.9% in March, the statistical office, ASK, said on Friday.

On a monthly comparison basis, prices added 0.2% in April, after rising 0.8% in March, ASK said in a monthly inflation report.

The increase in annual terms was primarily driven by rises in the prices of coffee, tea and cocoa, by 16.4%; personal transport, by 13.1%; fruits by 11.1%; meat by 10.1%. A drop in the prices of fuel and lubricants, by 9.7%, and solid fuels, firewood, pellets by 4.6% acted in the opposite direction

In 2024, Kosovo’s HICP rose by an average 1.6%, after advancing by 4.9% a year earlier.
