This year, Norway Chess and Norway Chess Women tournaments will follow a 6-player double round-robin format, with both events offering an equivalent prize fund.

The Armageddon Format guarantees a decisive result in every match, making every round thrilling to watch. If a classical game ends in a draw, the players immediately face off in a high-stakes Armageddon game to determine the winner.

The tournament also promises a top-tier experience with its confessional booth, broadcast studios, extensive international TV exposure, a live audience, and engaging parallel events.

As Norway Chess 2025 prepares to kick off in Stavanger, Dr. Mehmet Mars Seven shared tournament win probabilities that show home favourite and World No. 1 Magnus Carlsen as the winner with a 33.8% chance of clinching the title.

Hikaru Nakamura and Fabiano Caruana follow behind with a 17.0% chance and 16.2%, respectively. Together, the U.S. duo represents a combined 33.2% probability.

India stands thereafter, with reigning world champion Gukesh having a chance of 13.7% and fellow prodigy Arjun Erigaisi at 11.9%, combining for a 25.6% likelihood of an Indian champion.
