Nova ICT is implementing the project “Integrated Protection, Promotion and Security System for Mount Egaleo”, commissioned by the Environmental Association of Municipalities of Athens – Piraeus (PE.SY.D.A.P.). The aim of the project is to protect and promote an important green lung that directly affects approximately 2 million residents in 23 municipalities.
The project implemented by Nova ICT is part of the innovative “Smart Forest” system, which utilizes advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools, new generation networks, smart applications, sensors and cameras with image analysis capabilities, with the aim of preventing and effectively managing risks from natural disasters.
At the heart of the system is a state-of-the-art Management and Control Center, which ensures full operational readiness of the involved Civil Protection agencies, timely information to citizens and immediate coordination in cases of emergency. The project aims to act as a reference point for environmental protection and the safety of residents from natural disasters. At the same time, it promotes environmental awareness in the local community, through educational tools and actions that encourage the participation of citizens, students, volunteers and visitors.
