Kosovo and North Macedonia end first friendly goalless

Kosovo ended the first friendly match of June with North Macedonia goalless (0:0). Although the Dardanelles were committed, the opponent’s good organization prevented Kosovo from achieving a positive result.
In the first half, the teams were equal, while in the second half, the Dardans were more persistent and created several chances but were not skillful in front of goal. Although the result was not in the foreground, coach Afrim Tovërlani justified the draw with numerous absences in the team.
“We had some absences, but regardless of the opportunity they were given, especially in the first half, they had to make better use of it, because in the next rally most of them return and whoever does not prove himself, the field shows it.”
Even the footballers themselves admitted that they made mistakes and weren’t in the best shape.
“We lacked crosses towards the opponent’s goal, the ball circulated well but the finishing was lacking. We hope that in the return match we will improve some of the mistakes we made in this match”, said footballer Hekuran Berisha.
Meanwhile, captain Leon Zeqiraj believes they had a better performance than their opponent:
“We were a team with young players and it took us time to adapt to each other. The second half was better, we had chances but lacked concreteness.”
Kosovo will play its second friendly against the same opponent on May 31 in Skopje.
