Today, Kosovo held Distinguished Visitors Day (DV Day) in Babaj i Bokës, Gjakova. The event was part of the “Defender Europe 25” exercise.

As a result, Kosovo showed it is ready to join NATO.

Kosovo hosted the event. It also contributed about 1,000 KSF members. In total, 25,000 troops from 29 NATO and partner countries took part.

During the day, KSF troops carried out special training scenarios. These drills showed their readiness and teamwork with regional and allied forces.

Troops from the U.S., Albania, Croatia, North Macedonia, and Bulgaria also joined.

President Vjosa Osmani attended the event. So did Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti. NATO officials, ambassadors, and senior officers were also present.

President Osmani said the KSF is ready. It can take part in joint missions. It is also ready to be a full NATO member. She added that the KSF showed strong cooperation with allied forces.

She called “Defender 2025” clear proof of Kosovo’s strong ties with the U.S.

Acting Prime Minister Kurti agreed. He said the KSF showed strength and full cooperation with NATO. He added that this supports Kosovo’s NATO goal. He also praised the KSF troops.

U.S. Army Chief of Staff for Europe and Africa, Levon Cumpton, also spoke. He said joint exercises build readiness and regional stability.

Major General Michael Wegscheider also commented. He said the drills proved strong cooperation. He praised the people of Kosovo and the KSF. He called them the true heroes of the exercise.

Kosovo also displayed modern military equipment. Leaders inspected it at the site.

The exercise in Kosovo started on May 26. It ends on June 9.
