Political analyst Blerim Canaj has outlined two alternatives for Kosovo not to go to elections again.

According to former diplomat Canaj, if a government is being considered until the election of the president in parliament, the name of Fatmir Limaj should be submitted for speaker of parliament.

Meanwhile, he considers the second possibility to be that Albin Kurti contacts Memli Krasniqi and Bedri Hamza to make a compromise.

“There are two options now for us not to go to the elections. The first is if a government is thought of until the election of the president, the name of Fatmir Limaj [for speaker of parliament] should be brought to parliament. I am very sure that he will get the votes because he is communicative and has his former colleagues and comrades-in-arms. The second is that since the LDK is blocked in the sense that it does not want to enter the government. Albin Kurti should contact Memli Krasniqi and Bedri Hamza one fine morning and make a compromise. Politics is compromise,” Canaj said for RTV21.

Regarding local and national elections on the same day, Canaj says that citizens could be deceived into taking a pro-Albin Kurti stance.

“If both national and municipal elections are held, then citizens could be deceived and take a pro-Albin Kurti stance,” he said.

He said VV’s goal seems to be for Kosovo to go to the first two elections.

“The goal of VV seems to be for Kosovo to go to the first two elections, municipal and national, and that is because of the experience that VV has had in the past municipal elections, why? In the municipal elections we have seen that candidates for mayors are important and VV cannot function without Albin Kurti,” he stressed.
