MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Turns out that oral health is way more than just preventing tooth decay and gum disease. Good oral health is linked to various aspects of overall well-being, including heart health, diabetes management, and a reduced risk of certain types of cancer.

The CDC reports that 1 in 4 adults have untreated tooth decay and that nearly 50% of adults over 30 have gum disease.

Action News 5’s Andrew Douglas is speaking with father and son dentist duo Dr. Kevin and Taylor Reed. Reed Family Dentistry is currently celebrating 75 years of service to the community.

Both Dr. Kevin and Dr. Taylor volunteer locally with Donated Dental Services and Mid-South Mission of Mercy, providing free dental care to qualifying patients.
