Dolly Parton Posted a Throwback Performance of What Fans Keep Saying Is Their Favorite Song of Hers originally appeared on Parade.
Dolly Parton started the week by posting a throwback video of herself performing one of her famous songs from the ’70s. The nostalgic clip has her fans clapping along to what many of them say is their favorite song of hers.
“Cause I am a seeker, and you are a teacher/ You are a leader, won’t you show me the way?” Dolly sings. “And you are a mountain/ From which there flows a fountain/ Won’t you let its water wash my sins away?”
In the clip, Dolly sings her 1975 song, “The Seeker,” seated next to a piano while backup singers in suits croon into their microphones next to her. Her hair is looking especially humongous and her accessories particularly sparkly. She’s in a black and gold dress that glitters as she bops around on her stool.
“Cause I am a seeker and you are a teacher/ You are a leader won’t you show me the way?” she sings before her big finish: “Oh and you are a leader won’t you show me the way!”
The comments are filled with the typical Dolly comments of hearts and sparkle emojis, as well as comments about her hair—”The bigger the hair, the closer to heaven.” But there were also quite a few fans who chimed in to tell the Queen of Country that this is their favorite song from her extensive repertoire.
