Ryan B. Gibbs, the producing artistic director of Totem Pole Playhouse, is directing the show. Darren Server is the music director, Cody Smith is the choreographer, Elizabeth Angelozzi is the costume designer and Tom Ryan is the scenic designer.

“This show is fun, fierce and filled with heart — just like Dolly herself,” Gibbs said in the announcement. “It’s about finding your voice, standing up for what’s right and dancing a little while you do it. That’s the kind of energy we want to bring to Totem Pole this summer.”

The musical premiered in Los Angeles in 2008 and transferred to Broadway in 2009, earning 15 Drama Desk nominations and four Tony nominations. With music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and a book by Patricia Resnick, co-writer of the original film, it remains one of the most beloved and empowering shows of the modern musical era.

The production features more than 25 local performers and crew members, continuing Totem Pole’s tradition of spotlighting homegrown talent and building community through live performance.

“9 to 5: The Musical” is rated PG-13 for mature humor and workplace hijinks. It is sponsored by The Drager Family.
