Russell Wilson’s Wife Ciara Sends Message After MTV Star’s Death originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
New York Giants quarterback Russell Wilson and his wife, Ciara, are keeping busy this offseason.
While Wilson prepares for his debut season in the Meadowlands, Ciara is gearing up for the release her first new full-length album in six years.
Ciara, who shares four children with Wilson, Future Zahir, 10, her son from a previous relationship, Sienna Princess, 8, Win Harrison, 4, and Amora Princess, 1, already released the first single off the new album, “Ecstasy.”
While promoting her new album over the past few weeks, the singer traveled to Cannes, headlined the Mighty Hoopla Festival in London, presented at the American Music Awards, and appeared at the BET Awards in Los Angeles earlier this week.
Two days after the BET Awards, Ananda Lewis, the wildly popular host of the network’s “Teen Summit” show in ’90s, died at age 52.
After interviewing Tupac Shakur, Kobe Bryant, and then-first lady Hillary Clinton, Lewis earned a NAACP Award for her work on “Teen Summit.”
After leaving for MTV, the host and VJ’s star power exploded through shows such as “Total Request Live” and “Hot Zone.” As for her cause of death, Lewis died following a long battle with breast cancer.
While she initially opted for alternative approaches to treatment instead of chemotherapy and a double-mastectomy, Lewis’s cancer grew to Stage 4.

Ciara shared a photo of Lewis on her Instagram Stories and wrote, “Rest in Paradise Ananda.”
Ananda told CNN last year that she regretted her decision to “keep my tumor and try to work it out of my body a different way… I wish I could go back. It’s important for me to admit where I went wrong with this.”
