If these balconies could talk, what would they tell us?
Of gossip over coffee, of generations watching the world go by.
Every creak and color holds a memory I’ll never know, but I feel it anyway.I wonder how many lives brushed shoulders here, just beyond the shutters.

They would say nobody gives a damn about your photos of balconies or whatever other crap you are flooding this sub with.
Camera?
cool photos
The 12th and final photo in the set is particularly unique – it’s a ‘Gallarija Miftuħa’ (“Open Balcony”) by Chris Briffa Architects. That traditional balcony can be opened up into a modern terrace:

Beautiful.
So beautiful. I wish they could talk too
I don’t think I’ve seen the style from photo 2. It’s beautiful.
The beauty of traditionalism.
2/10 not enough concrete in shot.

In all seriousness though, amazing shots of what’s probably one of the most recognizable element of traditional Maltese architecture.
It’s always been a bit confusing to me that with how well loved these seem to be both locally and internationally no effort was put into keeping at least some of the aesthetic of them in modern Maltese architecture.
