ASM is the coordinating body of the Romanian language in the Republic of Moldova. ASM also excludes the formulation “Moldovan language”, in favor of that “Romanian language”.

History: The establishment of the academic sector of the Moldovan science was initiated immediately after the Second World War. The institutional nucleus was formed on June 12, 1946, by establishing the Moldovan base of scientific research, reorganized, in 1949, in the Moldovan branch of the USSR Academy.
