The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, emphasized that international security requires fewer nuclear weapons, not an increase in nuclear arsenals—especially in cases where authoritarian states seek to acquire such arms.

In a social media post, Kurti stated that the Republic of Kosovo stands alongside the United States and the European Union regarding concerns over Iran’s nuclear program.

“International security needs less nuclear weaponry, not more nuclear bombs that endanger all of humanity. Especially when authoritarian states develop programs to acquire nuclear arms, this issue becomes urgent and alarming,” Kurti wrote.

He also stressed the importance of Kosovo’s partnership with the United States:

“The U.S. is our main ally, an irreplaceable partner, and a special friend. The Republic of Kosovo is firmly committed to defending democratic and Euro-Atlantic values.”

This statement comes at a time when global tensions over nuclear armament are on the rise, particularly following recent developments in the Middle East.
