A delegation of the Parliament of Georgia, led by Chair of the Culture Committee Giorgi Gabunia, met with the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, H.E. Alen Simonyan.

The sides discussed matters related to cooperation between Georgia and Armenia.

Particular attention was given to the importance of strengthening interparliamentary collaboration, with both parties emphasizing that the parliamentary format is one of the most effective tools for deepening relations between neighbouring countries.

G. Gabunia spoke about the measures taken in Georgia to promote cultural development and highlighted ongoing efforts to modernise cultural infrastructure.

In this context, the rehabilitation project of the Armenian Theatre in Tbilisi was mentioned, which is expected to be completed soon.

During the meeting, G. Gabunia expressed his wish to celebrate the opening of the restored Armenian Theatre together with Armenian colleagues.

The parliamentary delegation, headed by G. Gabunia, also includes: Chair of the Healthcare and Social Issues Committee, Zaza Lominadze; Deputy Chair of the Budget and Finance Committee, Bezhan Tsakadze; and members of the Friendship Group with the Parliament of Armenia, Samvel Manukyan and Sumbat Kyuregyan.

The meeting was also attended by Georgia’s Consul to the Republic of Armenia, Nana Andghuladze.
