A 19-year-old boy from Macedonia drowned on Tuesday afternoon on the central beach of Hanioti in Halkidiki, reported halkidikinews.

According to the report by a volunteer from the Greek Red Cross, Ioannis T. Kolokitas, the young man suffered a heart attack after drowning, under circumstances that are still unknown.

The intervention of the rescuer was urgent, who, with the help of swimmers, pulled the young man from the sea and immediately began the resuscitation process, using an automatic external defibrillator.

As the media reported, the ambulance arrived immediately, but despite everyone’s superhuman efforts, the young man was not saved.
