The Director of the Seismological Institute of Kosovo, Shemsi Mustafa, spoke about the risk of earthquakes in the country.

“In recent days there have been several earthquakes, especially the most affected areas were Albania, North Macedonia and Kosovo. Within these seven-eight days, nearly eight earthquakes occurred in Kosovo, but with a very low intensity, fortunately not felt by humans, only those who live in very tall buildings,” he said.

He adds that Kosovo, unfortunately, is a seismic zone, reports Klankosova.

“The entire territory of Kosovo is above 0.13 acceleration, where a seismic zone is any area that is above 0.08. Thus, the seismic zones are Istog, Peja, Prizren, Gjakova,” said Mustafa.
