Bujar Osmani: Kurti’s intervention in North Macedonia influenced his downfall in Kosovo

Former Foreign Minister of North Macedonia, Bujar Osmani, has described as harmful the statements of the acting Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, on the issue of the Albanian language in North Macedonia.
He said on Thursday on KTV’s “Interaktiv” that Kurti’s intervention in Albanian parties in Macedonia has created “a government that is not in line with our interests.”
Osmani added that Kurti’s statements towards North Macedonia caused his support in Kosovo to drop.
“…I have information that this intervention by the prime minister has reflected on the voters of Kosovo towards the prime minister. I believe that it was a message that it is not good to intervene. Based on some measurements, one of the factors that influenced it was also the intervention… The people of Kosovo feel the atmosphere of equality when they come to Skopje,” he said.
The Albanian politician in North Macedonia has stated that official Pristina and Tirana should not work to divide Albanians, saying that “by doing this you are working against the interests of Albanians.”
“We have not come out as a party against the prime minister, at a moment when we assessed that damage has been done for the declaration that ‘the Albanian language has never been an official language’. In Skopje, this was assessed as an alibi… It has affected us because it has affected us in something that Albanians of Macedonia and Kosovo have shed blood. Albania and Kosovo must understand their role in helping Albanians in North Macedonia,” said Osmani.
According to Osmani, with the current government in North Macedonia, Albanians are finding it difficult to live and the Albanian language is being destroyed.
“In North Macedonia we have a process of political revisionism, attempting to destroy the statehood status of Macedonia with political aggression… There is a lack of political will to respect fair and equal representation. The justice system has been cleansed of Albanians… Every director who is not Albanian makes hires, 30 to 0… We have a noticeable decline in Albanian representation. The Albanian language is being destroyed,” he emphasized.
