A delegation of the Parliament of Georgia, led by Chair of the Culture Committee Giorgi Gabunia, is currently on an official visit to the Republic of Armenia.
At the National Assembly, a joint session was held between the Culture Committee of the Parliament of Georgia and the Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia. The session was chaired by G. Gabunia and Sisak Gabrielyan, the respective committee chairs.
The sides discussed the friendly relations between the two countries and expressed readiness to further strengthen cooperation across various sectors.
Special attention was given to the close ties between the legislative bodies of Georgia and Armenia, including the cooperation between the two parliamentary committees. It was underlined that the memorandum signed between the two sides marks a new stage in Georgia-Armenia interparliamentary relations.
“At this introductory meeting, we reviewed the current areas of cooperation between our countries, identified priority directions, and expressed our willingness to deepen collaboration further. We are committed to maintaining constant communication and reinforcing cultural and creative links between Georgia and Armenia”, – G. Gabunia stated.
The parliamentary delegation also includes: Chair of the Healthcare and Social Issues Committee, Zaza Lominadze; Deputy Chair of the Budget and Finance Committee, Bezhan Tsakadze; and members of the Georgia-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group, Samvel Manukyan and Sumbat Kyuregyan.
The session was also attended by Georgia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Armenia, H.E. Giorgi Sharvashidze.
