Fever Make Major Caitlin Clark Announcement Ahead of Lynx Game originally appeared on Athlon Sports.

It’s been nearly a week since Caitlin Clark last suited up for the Indiana Fever.

Clark, who’s missed the last two games — an 85-75 defeat to the Los Angeles Sparks and a 94-86 victory over the Dallas Wings — with a groin injury, ranks second in the league in assists (8.9 per game) behind Phoenix’s Alyssa Thomas, and 12th in scoring (18.2 points per game), behind Wings rookie phenom Paige Bueckers.

But Fever fans received some potentially good news on Monday about Clark’s impending return, when the team gave a promising update on her status for Tuesday’s contest against the Minnesota Lynx.

“Status Report for tomorrow’s game against Minnesota: Damiris Dantas – NWT (national team obligation), Caitlin Clark – Questionable (left groin),” the Fever wrote on X.

While there’s no final update on whether Clark will actually return or not, fans on social media made it clear how they felt about Clark coming back so soon from a major injury.

“If it’s still questionable, sit her out. Don’t ruin her whole career,” one user posted.

“Groin injury doesn’t heal overnight. I’d rather have her stay off the court until she was fully healed,” a second user wrote.

“Don’t even think about it 😠 Y’all rushed her back twice already,” one fan scoffed.

“It’s okay to say she’s out for 3 weeks. The fans won’t be mad, don’t treat us like idiots,” remarked another fan.

“Do not play CC unless he’s 100% good to go. As badly as people want her to play. Do not take that gamble with her of all people,” a third fan exclaimed.

Clark, the reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year and recently named captain for the All-Star Game, has already missed significant time this season.

The 23-year-old guard missed five games over three weeks from late May to mid-June while battling a quadriceps injury. The Fever went 2-3 without her.
