Industrial production in North Macedonia rose by 9.4% year-on-year in May 2025, picking up from a 1.4% increase in the previous month.
This marked the strongest growth in industrial activity since October 2023, driven by a sharp rebound in output for mining and quarrying (18.8% vs. -1.2% in April) and faster output growth in manufacturing (9% vs. 2.5%).
Meanwhile, activity continued to decline in electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply (-11.8% vs. -18.3%).
Considering the first five months of the year, industrial production was 3.3% higher compared to the same period last year.
