Greek diplomacy is making moves to keep the treatment of Syria’s Christian Orthodox minority at the forefront of international policy.
On Monday, the UN Security Council, where Greece currently has a non-permanent seat, discussed developments in Syria following a terrorist hit on an Orthodox Church in Damascus, where at least 25 worshippers were killed in a gun and suicide vest attack.
Greece said it is willing to assist Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa’s government to honor its commitments to protect all religious minorities.
