Sweden has announced the allocation of 1.5 billion Swedish kronor, equivalent to approximately 130 million euros, for military support to Ukraine. This package includes, in particular, barrels for Archer self-propelled artillery systems. This was reported by Sweden’s Minister of Defense, Pål Jonson.

“The government has decided to allocate 1.5 billion Swedish kronor (about 130 million euros) for new military capabilities for Ukraine. These include more than 10 new barrels for Archer SPGs, long-range strike capabilities, and underwater equipment, as well as additional logistical support.”

The minister noted that the 155 mm Archer self-propelled artillery systems have demonstrated high effectiveness on the Ukrainian front, and there is now a need for new barrels to upgrade them.

“Trucks from Volvo and Scania will also be purchased, along with a new container system for faster and safer unloading of defense equipment.”

    – Pål Jonson

Additionally, on June 5, the Swedish government decided to allocate 550 million Swedish kronor (over 27 million dollars) to support Ukraine within the framework of NATO.

Of this amount, 300 million Swedish kronor will be directed to the NATO Comprehensive Assistance Package Target Fund to support Ukraine, and another 250 million kronor to the NATO Target Fund, which provides assistance in security and training, for the rapid procurement of necessary goods and services, such as spare parts.
