Kosovo Police seize over 100 thousand undeclared euros from a Serbian citizen in Merdare

Kosovo Police have announced that at the Merdare border crossing they seized over 100 undeclared euros last night, in a vehicle with Serbian license plates that was also being driven by a Serbian citizen.

The same person had initially declared that he had 18 thousand euros with him, but after a detailed check, he was found to have a full 119 thousand 180 euros.

“On 03.07.2025 at around 21:30, at the exit of the Merdare border crossing, border police officers selected for control at the second control line, a vehicle with Serbian license plates with a driver and a male passenger with Serbian citizenship, after the passenger initially declared that he had 18 euros with him,” the statement said.

“During the detailed inspection by border police and customs officers, a total of 119,180 (one hundred and nineteen thousand one hundred and eighty) euros, undeclared banknotes (10, 20, 50, 100 and 200) were found in various places: on the driver’s body, in a bag in the back seat, under the passenger seat and on the roof of the vehicle/moving panorama,” the announcement adds.

The police have announced that all undeclared monetary assets (119,180 euros) have been temporarily seized and handed over to customs officials for further processing and proceeding. /Express/
