A man has died following a serious accident at a brick factory in Gjakova. The victim, who was working at the factory, sustained severe injuries under still unclear circumstances.
He was initially taken to the Family Medicine Center in Gjakova (QE-Gjakovë) for medical treatment, and was later transferred to the University Clinical Center of Kosovo (UCCK), where he passed away at around 00:20 on July 6, 2025.
According to the police report, at approximately 21:55 on July 5, the victim suffered serious injuries while working at the factory, but the full causes of the incident have yet to be clarified.
The victim’s body has been sent for autopsy at the Institute of Forensic Medicine (IFM) to determine the cause of death. Police have launched an investigation and have opened a case under “Destruction, Damage or Removal of Protective Equipment and Endangerment of Workplace Safety.”
This incident raises concerns about workplace safety and the use of protective equipment, which is essential to prevent such accidents. Authorities are continuing their investigation to fully clarify the circumstances of the tragedy.
