Lexington Police actively search for missing Alexander Jeffcoat, urging caution if spotted due to his mental health and violent history.

LEXINGTON, S.C. — The Lexington Police Department is actively searching for Alexander Lee Jeffcoat, 36, who was reported missing by a family member earlier this week.

Jeffcoat was last seen on Sunday, July 6, 2025, around 1:30 p.m. in the Teesdale Court area of the Town of Lexington. At the time, he was wearing a red baggy hoodie and black baggy pants. He is described as being 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing approximately 200 pounds.

Authorities believe Jeffcoat walked away from his residence voluntarily. However, police are urging the public to use caution if he is spotted. Jeffcoat has a documented history of mental health conditions and violent tendencies.

“He is considered a missing person and is listed in the National Crime Information Center (NCIC),” the Lexington Police Department stated in a release. “We are asking for the public’s help but advise that he should not be approached.”

Anyone with information regarding Jeffcoat’s whereabouts is urged to contact Detective Morrison at 803-358-1569 or email mmorrison@lexsc.gov.
