Kurti: In Counter-Strike and Dota 2, all of Europe is in Kosovo

Pristina has become the heart of European esports this week, welcoming 35 teams from 24 countries competing in the European Esports Championship for the most coveted titles in Counter-Strike and Dota 2.

Kosovo’s acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, has shared a message following Kosovo’s successful debut, emphasizing the role of youth in this field where sport and technology come together.

“In Counter-Strike and Dota 2, all of Europe is in Kosovo. This week, Pristina is the center of Europe in electronic sports, where 35 teams from 24 countries compete for the trophies of the European Esports Championship. Where sport and technology meet, our youth undoubtedly shine. Kosovo started with a victory against the Czech Republic, a strong debut that gives us confidence and pride. Continued success to our boys, we are with you!” Kurti wrote.

The victory over the Czech Republic has set the tone for a strong performance by the Kosovar team, raising expectations for a successful journey in this championship that is putting the country on the international Esports map.

This European-level organization not only turns Pristina into a meeting point for young talents, but also proves the great potential of Kosovar youth to compete and excel on the biggest e-sports stage.
