(WALA) – A Mobile native has been confirmed for a post in the Trump administration at the Department of Energy.
The nomination of Wells Griffith as undersecretary of energy was approved on a vote of 54-43, U.S. Sen. Katie Britt, R-Ala., announced today.

In announcing her vote to confirm Griffith’s nomination and the subsequent approval, Britt issued the following statement:
“Today I was proud to vote to confirm Mobile native Wells Griffith as Under Secretary of Energy. For Under Secretary Griffith, this isn’t just a tremendous honor—advancing America’s energy future and dominance is integral to our state and nation. He understands firsthand how access to affordable, reliable energy is critical for Americans from coast to coast. Under Secretary Griffith will work diligently to fuel America’s economy, lower costs for families, and create good-paying jobs. I know his expertise will support Secretary Wright’s mission of strengthening our national security and implementing President Trump’s all-of-the-above, America First energy agenda.”
