This personalized approach contrasts with the standard model of education, which Price describes as “very inefficient” because students receive content at the same pace, regardless of their unique needs.”AI is really enabling us to raise human intelligence by meeting every kid where they’re at academically and helping them excel,” said Price.The AI-driven model has already caught the interest of parents like Atrin Toussi, who is exploring more effective educational options for her child. Toussi acknowledged the challenges of traditional schooling for younger children.”Who has an attention span for 8 hours of continuous learning a day? And that’s what we expect a five-year-old to do, which is, I think, a little bit crazy to me,” said Toussi. Despite concerns about the authenticity of learning with technology, she emphasized the importance of adapting to new tools in a changing world. “If we don’t learn how to use these tools, if we don’t learn how to learn with those tools, we’re going to fall behind,” said Toussi.Beyond academics, Alpha School integrates other essential elements into its curriculum. “The rest of the school day is spent doing life skills workshops. The majority of the school day is freed up for kids to be able to do things like bike races and triathlons, start little businesses, and take part in all kinds of teamwork challenges,” said Price.Despite the heavy emphasis on AI, teachers remain a crucial part of the classroom, according to Price. They teach life skills and motivate students, ensuring a well-rounded educational experience.The private school is offering enrollment for K-3 grade levels. Tuition to attend the new school will cost $45,000 a year.
