ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – On Evans Mill Road in Lithonia, a sports grill known as DaBomb received a health inspection that was less than favorable.
DaBomb Sports Grill scored 60 points and a “U” for unsatisfactory on July 7. The report says the ice machine was dirty with heavy debris touching the ice, chicken, cheese and eggs were at unsafe temperatures and there were live roaches, gnats and flies in the kitchen.
“The roaches she saw were in the trap. That is what they are supposed to do,” DaBomb Sports Grill Owner Gary DaCosta said.
The owner told Atlanta News First that he is not pleased with the way the health inspector conducted her business and believes she was too critical.
“This is what I did. I sent her an email. I haven’t talked to her boss yet because I’m not trying to get anyone fired,” DaCosta said.
Meanwhile, the owner said he temporarily closed his business for cleaning and is actively working to correct the violations.
“We’re the safest place to eat in the state of Georgia right now because we came in and even doubled down on our cleaning,” DaCosta said.
Now to an update in Forsyth County. Biryani Pot on Atlanta Highway in Cumming improved on a follow-up inspection this week earning an “A” and 95 points.
Pochino Italy on Chastain Road in Kennesaw earned a 100 on their last health inspection. In fact, that’s two in a row. Congratulations, they are the winner of this week’s Golden Spatula award.
It’s fast casual service. They bring out the food and it’s piping hot and it’s not too much or too little. It’s just the right amount. You’ll also find the ingredients are fresh and many are imported from Italy, and they make their own pastas in house so it’s very fresh there as well.
On the menu, they have spaghetti with Bolognese sauce, formaggi with macaroni pasta, carbornara, cacio e pepe with penne pasta, pesto gnocchi, and Divola pizza, and salsiccia. Boy that’s good!
