5 Albums I Can’t Live Without:1Decadence, Head Automatica

Weird, wonderful, and a little rough around the edges. I remember listening for the first time and just being enamored by Daryl’s signature vocal swagger over psychedelic pop/funk tracks. Listening to the album feels like being in some neon-noir futuristic city or something.
2Futures, Jimmy Eat World

I love pretty much every Jimmy Eat World album, but Futures takes me to a time and a place in my life where listening with the windows down meant freedom, so these songs hold a really special place in my heart. It’s also just such a well-written, well-produced record, top to bottom.
3The Carter 2, Lil Wayne

Quite possibly my favorite rap album of all-time. Lil Wayne has always been one of the greatest to do it, and on this record you can hear him becoming just that. It’s a classic.
4Revolver, The Beatles

I love the Beatles. I grew up on the Beatles. They have always been a mainstay in my house. It’s hard to lock in on one specific record but the more I jump around their catalogue the more I find myself coming back to Revolver. “Eleanor Rigby” was the first song to ever make me emotional. I believe I was around five years old; too young to understand the depth of the lyrics, but aware enough to know that the song carried an emotional weight that landed with me even then.
5Rumours, Fleetwood Mac

Thirty-nine minutes of absolute songwriting perfection. I look to this album like a “how-to” for good, solid song structure.
