Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran had wonderful things to say about a Detroit during a recent appearance on Kylie Kelce’s podcast “Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce.”
Sheeran appeared on the Thursday, July 10 episode to talk with podcaster Kelce, who is also the wife of former Philadelphia Eagles football player Jason Kelce, about parenting, music and even Detroit.

The first Detroit mention came when Sheeran said the loudest crowd he’s ever heard was at his Detroit concert in 2023.
“The loudest, and there was a beat of a cheat code on it, we brought on Eminem, and that was the loudest I’ve ever heard a crowd, like anywhere in the world. Like there’s never, never been a louder crowd than that. But I will say it was because I brought Eminem on stage in Detroit. Like, that’s the cheat code.”
Detroit rapper Eminem made a special guest appearance at Sheeran’s July 15, 2023, concert at Ford Field after Sheeran started playing a rendition of Eminem’s “Lose Yourself.” Eminem emerged from beneath the stage to the crowd’s surprise. It was especially exciting because it was Eminem’s first Detroit concert appearance in years.
After “Lose Yourself,” Sheeran and Eminem also performed Eminem’s 2000 song “Stan.”

As the episode continued, Sheeran went on to talk with Kelce about what he liked about Philadelphia and Detroit.
“Also, that’s what I like about Philly in general is the like pride there,” Sheeran said. “It’s kind of like, what I love about it is it’s basically like f— everyone else. Like, it’s us, We are. We are it. And I felt that in Detroit, as well. There’s a real this is us.”
The conversation eventually moved to football. While Sheeran is a Tennessee Titans fan, he revealed he wants the Detroit Lions to win the Super Bowl next.
“I feel like Detroit are, like, on the edge of greatness,” Sheeran said.
