Former KIA Chief Inspector, Burim Ramadani, recalled the 2007 campaign to promote the Kosovo Police, with the motto “People like you, at your service”, carried out by the Ministry of Interior with the support of the OSCE.

He said that at that time, dangerousness allowances for Special Units were first established and that many police officers contributed to building a professional force.

“Kosovo was not born today. The police were not created today. It is known who has insulted, humiliated and attacked the police – not for ethnic reasons, but for political purposes,” Ramadani writes.

Ramadani has raised concerns about the lack of health insurance, low salaries, reduced training and incomplete equipment, demanding full support for the Police.

Ramadan’s reaction comes after the death of 27-year-old Agon Zejnullahu at the hands of the police in Lipjan last week.
