A Brighton property is the second listing in the city to accept Bitcoin as a form of payment.

The three-bedroom maisonette is for sale in Neptune Court at Brighton Marina and is listed on the market for offers in excess of £550,000.

As well as accepting a monetary purchase, owner Daniel Golding has decided to also accept the popular cryptocurrency, Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is a decentralised digital currency which people can buy, sell, and exchange directly over a computer network, just like a bank.

In 2014, Brighton made the news when it opened the UK’s second Bitcoin ATM.

(Image: Harrington Sales) There are currently only two properties in the UK which have been purchased with cryptocurrency – a four bedroom house in Essex and a Hertfordshire house.

The Marina property marks the city’s second Bitcoin offer, with a two-bedroom flat in Sussex Heights offering Bitcoin for its sale in 2021.

Daniel explained why he made the decision. He said: “Bitcoin has proven itself as a transformative asset, consistently since its inception.

“By accepting Bitcoin for this luxury apartment, I’m not only capitalizing on its potential but also helping to normalize its use in high-value transactions.”

On the market with Harrington Sales, the home features 1,143 square ft of modern living space, as well as harbour views from its two balconies.

The lower floor of the property includes three double bedrooms, two of which feature ensuites, leading to a large open hallway and main family bathroom.

Additionally, the property includes a private garage which is located in the courtyard and equipped with power sockets and an electric remote operated door.

Residents also have access to visitor spaces, which are provided annually for free to ensure guests can park at the property.

CEO of Harrington Sales, Mark Harrington, said: “The UK property market is always evolving, and digital currencies are now becoming a viable option for forward-thinking buyers and sellers.

“This is our first property listing to accept Bitcoin, signalling the growing confidence in digital currencies. We are thrilled to facilitate this landmark sale.”
