Snopce: Macedonia under the influence of the “Serbian world” – step after step towards European integration

ASH MP Halil Snopçe delivered a speech in the Assembly regarding the Danish priorities during the six-month presidency of the Council of Europe.
In his speech, MP Snopce emphasized that “what stands out is that under the previous Polish presidency, the enlargement of the European Union to the Western Balkans, including Macedonia, was a high priority.”
Snopce says that this time there is a backward movement regarding Macedonia.
“Denmark has not set a specific focus on the Macedonia Process,” emphasized MP Snopçe.
“As a state, we have no other alternative than to implement reforms (which are also very concretely foreseen by the Danish presidency) and, of course, to implement constitutional changes,” MP Snopçe further underlined.
He says he reminded everyone of the explicit message of the President of the EU Council, Antonio Costa, who told the country’s Prime Minister that there is no other agreement. “Implement what we have agreed on. On the same day, we had the resignation of the Minister of Health, Mr. Taravari. His party decided to leave the government due to dissatisfaction with the course and dynamics of reforms in the country.”
MP Snopçe has expressed concern about foreign influences, especially from the Eastern world such as Russia and China, which have become visible and are unfortunately determining the strategic direction of the state.
“Within this worrying framework is the active return of the “Serbian world” project, an agenda that, through political, cultural and religious ties, is attempting to strengthen its influence in the entire region, including North Macedonia. This is a very dangerous strategy for the future of the country,” the ASH MP further stated.
All of these are not conjectures or conspiracy theories, he says, but are facts documented in reports by the European Union, the US Department of State, and international organizations that monitor developments in the Western Balkans.
