Kosovo teams learn from European competition opponents

Kosovo handball teams, in both competitions, have learned the names of the opposing teams in European competitions for the 2025/26 season, in the draw held today, writes “Gazeta Express”.

Rahovec with opponent from Luxembourg or North Macedonia

Kosovo’s handball champion, Rahoveci, will begin competing in the second round of the European Handball Cup.

But to learn the opponent, Rahovec must wait for the end of the first round matches.

The “Vineyards” will face the winner of the matches between Dudelange of Luxembourg and Butel of North Macedonia.

The second round matches of the EHF European Cup will take place on 11/12 and 18/19 October.

Besa Famgas with opponent from Turkey

Besa Famgas learned on Tuesday the opponent for the first round of the European Handball Cup.

The Peja team will face the Turkish team, Depsas Enerji, and will aim to advance to the second round of the EHF European Cup.

The first round matches of the European Cup are on 6/7 and 13/14 September.

Kosovo’s women’s handball champion, Istog, will face a Greek team in the second round of the EHF European Cup.

In the draw drawn on Tuesday, Istog is scheduled to play against the AEP Panorama team.

Istog was the seed in the draw, while Panorama was ranked last among the non-seeded teams. Consequently, Istog is considered the favorite.

The matches take place on September 27/28 and October 4/5.

Eagles face the great Swiss team

The Eagle of Gjakova will have a difficult opponent in the second round of the European Handball Cup (EHF European Cup).

Tuesday’s draw has set Shqiponja to face Swiss team Winterthur. The matches will take place in late September and early October.
