The number of building permits issued in Serbia declined by 9.5% year-on-year to 2,226 in May 2025.
Out of the total number of permits issued, 85.8% were for buildings and 14.2% for civil engineering works.
Among building permits, 81.7% were for residential structures and 18.3% for non-residential.
As for civil engineering, the majority (73.5%) were for pipelines, communication, and power lines.
Meanwhile, new construction works accounted for 84.7% of the total anticipated value.
