After several hours of raids on the premises of the Kosovo Archives Agency and the Cadastral Agency, on Wednesday, five people were taken to the police station on suspicion of abusing their official position or authority. The raids and arrests are related to suspicions of fraud with the property of Radio Television of Pristina in “Veternik”.

Five officials of the Kosovo Archives Agency and the Cadastral Agency were escorted to the police station on Wednesday, on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of “Abuse of official position or authority”.

They were detained after several hours of raids that were carried out at these two agencies.

“The inspection was conducted in two state institutions: the Kosovo Cadastral Agency and the Kosovo Archives Agency, as well as several other locations of interest for the investigation. During this action, five people, MB, VBBSH. MB and Z.SH, were escorted to the police station, while after being interviewed, some of them were arrested on suspicion of involvement in illegal activities,” the announcement of the Basic Prosecution of Pristina states.

According to the Prosecution, the investigations are related to the case of the illegal transfer of public property to private ownership through a forged judgment. 

It concerns a property in Veternik belonging to the socially-owned enterprise Radio Television of Prishtina, which is managed by the Kosovo Privatization Agency. 

“The Basic Prosecution Office in Pristina remains committed to investigating and prosecuting criminal offenses that harm the public interest and public property,” the Prosecution’s announcement states.

In the case of the illegal transfer of this property, lawyer Venhar Hana and instructor Dritmir Islami are also suspects, and are in custody.
