Political impasse: German Embassy considers that “Kosovo is missing the train”

As the political stalemate continues, the German Embassy assesses that Kosovo is in some way “missing the train”.
This Embassy reminds us that by failing to constitute the Assembly, the will of the people of Kosovo, expressed in the last parliamentary elections, is not being implemented.
Such a thing, according to this Embassy, is mainly an injustice towards citizens and businesses in Kosovo, due to the fact that important decisions are not being made and their implementation is being unnecessarily delayed.
“At the same time, Kosovo is somehow missing the train. While other countries in the region are moving forward with the EU Growth Plan and taking the next steps for the distribution of funds, Kosovo is in imminent danger of being left behind,” the German Embassy said in a response to KALLXO.com.
Kosovo has not yet received the grant due to political deadlock. In order for Kosovo to receive the first millions from the EU, which total 2027 by 882,000,000, it must first ratify the Agreement in the Kosovo Assembly.
Another concern raised by this diplomatic institution is that Kosovo has long been waiting for a new Enlargement Commissioner, a High Representative and a Special Representative for Dialogue: all from countries that recognize Kosovo and now continues to remain politically paralyzed.
“Now the ‘dream team’ from the EU side is on duty, but Kosovo continues to be politically paralyzed. In the end, Kosovo is losing precious time every day and causing itself political and economic damage – which inevitably reduces its importance.” – emphasizes the German Embassy.
According to this diplomatic mission, Kosovo cannot afford to continue the stalemate for another 6 months, as a lot of time and energy has already been wasted.
“The best solution would be for elected MPs and party leaders to finally come together in a spirit of compromise and find a way forward, putting the country and citizens first,” the German Embassy said.
