Sela confirms that Kurti has interfered in the state affairs of the Republic of Macedonia

Zijadin Sela, chairman of the Alliance for Albanians in North Macedonia, has revealed that the acting Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, had proposed to him that Arben Taravar be nominated as a presidential candidate.

Giving details on Tevë1, he said that Kurti had told him this in a meeting on January 4, 2024.

Sela said that it would not be a problem for him to run for president, but as he said, he has shown the reasons why Albanians should not have a presidential candidate.

“In the last meeting I had with Mr. Kurti on January 4, 2024, before the internal problems started, the thesis ‘it’s crazy to make Taravar a presidential candidate’ was put to me. I have nothing against it, but the question arises whether we should have an Albanian candidate for president. I said carefully that this comes from the mouth of a politician who five years ago called for the Albanian vote to go to Albanians, but under different circumstances,” said Sela.
