The Montenegrin men’s junior basketball team defeated North Macedonia 98:80 in Berane in the first of two friendly matches.

These duels are part of the preparations for the European B Championship, which is being held in Pitesti from July 25th to August 3rd.

The team led by Marko Sekulić entered the match better, taking a 9:0 lead, and after five minutes the scoreboard read 12:5.

However, the guests fought back, and with a 7:0 run, they managed to turn the game around for the first (and last) time they reached 16:14.

There was a great fight during the second quarter, but our juniors maintained the lead and had a plus seven (46:39) at halftime. Later, it was plus 20…

The most efficient player was Đorđe Gulić with 15 points and eight rebounds, Blažo Mudreša had 13 with 11 steals…

This was the third test for our national team, and Montenegro and North Macedonia will also play tomorrow in Berane (13 p.m.).

Montenegro will play in Group D at the European Championship with the Netherlands, Norway, Croatia and Slovakia.
