Drug smuggling prevented, imported from Serbia – Police provide details

Kosovo Police have announced that a case of smuggling goods from Serbia has been prevented. The vehicle that was stopped and searched contained various types of drugs.
The police also announced that the acting prosecutor in Gjilan has been notified about the case, who has ordered that the case be classified as “Smuggling of Goods” and the suspected goods be seized.

The Border Police Patrol of SPMK- Muqivërcë DRPK- East Kaçanik, engaged in combating cross-border criminal activities, has managed to prevent a case of smuggling of goods (drugs) from Serbia. At around 13:25 in the village of Novosello, after entering the territory of the Republic of Kosovo from the territory of Serbia, a vehicle with Serbian license plates was stopped for inspection and during the inspection, various types of drugs were found in its luggage.
The acting prosecutor in the BP-Gjilan was notified about the case, who ordered that the case be classified as “Smuggling of Goods”, the suspected goods be temporarily seized and handed over to Kosovo Customs for safekeeping, while the person and the vehicle be released in a regular procedure.
