The Organization of War Veterans of the Kosovo Liberation Army (OVL-UCK), together with the Association of War Invalids and the Association of Martyrs’ Families, has reacted sharply to the presence in Kosovo of Igor Popovic, who is the assistant director of the so-called “Office for Kosovo” in Serbia, known for his offensive stances towards the KLA and the Kosovo liberation war.

In their reaction, KLA veterans have described this as the “mentality of Milosevic’s subordinates”, emphasizing that the current president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, as a former minister of the then regime, continues to represent the same political approach.

“Any attempt to provoke, to smear the KLA and to use the territory of Kosovo for anti-national propaganda is unacceptable and must be resolutely stopped,” the statement said.

Organizations representing categories emerging from the war emphasize that they will not remain silent in the face of insults that violate the sacrifice for freedom and the blood of Kosovo’s martyrs and martyrs.

Gazeta Express has reported, citing its sources, that Igor Popović has been arrested by the Kosovo Police.

His arrest came after he, during a speech held today in Rahovec, used harsh language against the KLA.

“Igor Popovic, assistant director of the so-called “Office for Kosovo in the Serbian government”, gave a speech today in Rahovec, during which he used harsh language against the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), describing it as a terrorist organization. With his statements, he has incited hatred and interethnic division in Kosovo”, they told Express.

In addition, it has been stated that it is expected that Popović will be expelled from Kosovo.

“After the case was declared by the security and intelligence institutions, he is now under arrest by the KP and will be expelled from Kosovo and will be banned from entering Kosovo,” it was added to Express.
