
To this day in 1899 Ernest Hemingwayone of the most influential writers of the 20th century. Born at the Oak Park in the US state of Illinois, Hemingway later became known for his concise, direct writing style and topics that spin around the war, manhood, loss and struggle for survival.
His most famous works, like The old man and the sea, Goodbye weapons i Have and have noleft a strong mark on world literature. In 1954 he received the Nobel Prize for Literature, and today he is considered one of the greats of modern prose.
