A police officer in Glloboçica is arrested – she verified in an unauthorized manner whether a Serbian citizen was wanted by Kosovo

PIK investigators have arrested a police officer on suspicion that she committed the criminal offense of “abuse of official position or authority” and, by decision of the prosecutor, she has been ordered to be detained for 48 hours.
Based on legal authorizations, the Kosovo Police Inspectorate has also recommended the suspension of the police officer who was on duty at the Glloboçicë Border Crossing Point, Eastern Border Police Regional Directorate – Kaçanik, reports IPK.
“Based on the initial investigative actions, it is suspected that the police officer, using the border police database in an unauthorized manner, verified and registered in the system the data of a citizen of the Republic of Serbia.
“The citizen was not present at this border crossing point at all, and the suspicion is that the police officer made this recording to verify whether or not the citizen of the Republic of Serbia was wanted by the police,” the announcement states.
“PIK investigators, in coordination with the Basic Prosecution Office in Ferizaj, will undertake other investigative actions to shed light on all the circumstances of this case,” the announcement concludes.
