> A drug ring operating out of a fake skin clinic in southern Seoul sold more than 1 billion won ($719,000) worth of etomidate — a powerful anesthetic — to addicts while pretending to export the drug overseas, prosecutors announced Monday.
Many non-‘fake’ clinics in Gangnam have been doing this from at least before Covid. Gangnam police know and don’t do anything because, as usual, they’re corrupt af on hush money.

Real clinics already do this in Seoul by knowingly selling procedures to addicts who come in regularly and do not actually need the procedures.

I remember they were doing this with propofol and going to other countries to get it done. Always seemed to be celebs/rich people. That’s why Michael Jackson died. He was using it to sleep which is what these people also use it for.

The social status of doctors in Korea is extremely high. They are actually somewhat considered above the law and extremely difficult to be punished even when breaking the law. Most likely they will get away with this just cuz of lack of strict laws and leniency for doctors.

It’s ok to so this in Korea. The punishments are so weak it actually kind of encourages illegal activities
